Sigh. Thank God for this clerical position. I don't start until next Tuesday, so I basically have a 5-day weekend ahead of me. I plan on taking more driving lessons, cooking, sleeping (better and longer than I usually do), cleaning/organizing, designing, and of course, blogging. I mean, I haven't had time off like this since I started in September, so it's much needed for me. I have a lot I'd like to get done.

Alright, I'm going to go enjoy the rest of my evening. :)

I've had good news since Tuesday, but didn't really have time to blog about it because I've been home late every night this week. And whenever I get home late, all I do is cook my lunch/dinner for the next day & watch TV online.

And so, the good news is... this week is my very last week at my retail job! The clerical job I interviewed for on my birthday? They called me back at work Tuesday and offered me the position. I'll be starting Tuesday, April 17. Pays better, has better benefits, better vacation time and paid holidays (meaning I'll have Memorial Day & 4th of July off this year and still get paid)! So, sooooo happy. I cried a bit after I got the call. Thank goodness no one was in the office with me, lol.

I'm going to be working Sunday-Wednesday for 3 reasons-- 1) My mother is having extensive knee surgery Thursday and my dad wasn't going to be able to stay with her in the inpatient care facility she'll be at and also drive me to & from work that day. So I just planned to take it off. But also 2) I wanted to work Easter Sunday so I can avoid having to come in Friday. It will be four 10-hour shift days, just like two weeks ago. But once I'm done Wednesday, I'm just done. And I can have a 5-day weekend to do whatever I want (at home, that is). I'll be helping out with my mom, of course (she'll be drugged up), but she's actually not coming home until Friday evening or sometime Saturday. So... lots of time still to readjust, recoup from the retail BS and prepare for my new clerical job. Ugh, still can't believe this is finally happening...

So, this is actually going to change a few things (in a very good way) as far as my blog is concerned, too. Such as:

• GPOY posts. I'm going to start by posting them with my head cut off in the photos, but I'll show my face eventually. One of the reasons I haven't done any GPOY posts before (in addition to many other reasons) is because I bitched so much about my retail job on this blog and elsewhere online, and I didn't want my face attached to that while I was still working retail. The retail higher-ups (or even just co-workers) might see that and then want to fire me for talking so negatively (but truthfully) about my workplace. That, and they actually have a social media policy that prevents me from doing that with my own name and face. So... no more of that shit.

• Being more likely to post original videos in the slightly far-off future. I'm planning on saving up for that coveted MacBook Pro I've been wanting for quite awhile now. Not sure if it comes with a good webcam, so if I need a better webcam, I'll get that too. I also want a really good digital video camera to record stuff with. I have some ideas for things I want to post, and I want the webcam & digital video camera to be of the best quality I can afford.

• Less bitching about my job. I know this new clerical job won't be perfect, but compared to the past 7 months, I'm pretty sure it's not going to be anywhere near as annoying, upsetting and disappointing as the retail job. The biggest thing I'm worried about is consistently getting to work on time. I was mostly on time with the retail job, but it was in the same general direction as the route my dad takes to work. This lovely new job is in the other direction. So he's pretty much wanting me to starting driving myself to work right quick. Hoping to get a pile of driving lessons in during my 5-day weekend. That might prepare me to take my driving test by the end of April. And then I can just be scared of driving alone... what fun.

And... well, that's that. So... ugh, I cannot wait for the end of my workday Wednesday! I'll probably do one last post about my job, comparing it to what I will and won't do with the new job. But then that will be it for the retail bitching.

Nice to be hopeful about my future again. :)

That being said, got damn, yet another person at work botheing the shit out of me over a button not working on the touch screen. Called it in so a tech would come out. It’s been an issue forever apparently, but I only just knew about it today. And all I wanted this damn girl to do was reboot the damn register. Just humor me. when I call it in, they’re going to ask if the register was rebooted or recalibrated. If not, then I have to do it before it gets called in anyway. UGH. I would be ok if she didn’t have such a damn attitude about it, but now she’s on my “blacklist” with several other people. Pretty much hate half the people I work with (and it’s mostly managers with inflated egos and little care for other people’s feelings). It’s that bad. Not to mention, I hate being the person who is constantly called to fix everyone else’s shit, and then have them be annoyed with me because I was busy doing something else or fixing someone else’s shit before I got to theirs. I can’t be f*ckin’ everywhere at once, damn it. This current job is only going to get worse, not better. 

And so, my job search continues. I’ve gotten 3 calls within the past week from 3 different places. I got a call from a guy who works with some sales/marketing firm or company. I don’t like sales/marketing. Not interested in it. And while he’s telling me I can make $60,000-$70,000 a year and have a life, he’s telling me he’s calling from his second job. He was supposed to call me back again, but he didn’t. I have no intention of calling him back instead. I’ll just leave that where it is, which is nowhere…

The next one was some girl calling about an administrative position after seeing my resume online, and yet when I called her back and left her a message telling her I was looking for a “clerical, full-time permanent” position, she didn’t call me back to even confirm whether or not the position met any of my requirements. So screw her and her company…

However, the call I got today was from a legit place- a medical office at my alma mater. I’m going to call them back this weekend and hopefully set up an interview for next Friday afternoon. Fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, I’m doing a job application blitz this weekend. Applying for everything I believe I’m qualified for. But nothing less than what I want, which is a full-time, permanent clerical job that would pay at least $10 per hour. If it appears to meet all those requirements, I’ll apply for it. (Some positions don’t say how much they’d pay per hour, but you can do a guesstimate based on what the position requirements are and a quick review of their website.) We’ll see what falls from the job tree, because I’ll be shaking it hard…

Reposting the question so my followers will know what it was: 

How many concerts have you attended? Which was your favorite? Least favorite? If none, who do you want to see live the most?

If I count the time I saw Backstreet Boys in NYC for the first time, then it's 8 concerts. 9 concerts coming February 12 (I'll let you know who I'm seeing when the date gets closer... and if there's no snowstorms or icestorms that weekend). I think I can even list them in order...

BSB (Backstreet Boys) -- Monday, July 2nd, 2001. Saw them for their NBC Today show performance. I remember this date well for two reasons; first, one of its band members, A.J. McLean, went to rehab a week after I saw them here, and the Boys were on MTV talking about it. Definitely kinda shocked me, because on the surface everything seemed ok. Never really know what people are dealing with sometimes. Secondly, it was the last time I ever visited NYC, which was only 2 months before 9/11. I haven't been to NYC since.

BSB in April 2005 -- Just them. No stupid opening acts, which I normally hate. Wasn't familiar with the venue, went with my mom, and wanted to be closer to the stage. Couldn't see over people's heads in the stage pit (it was standing room only).

Ashlee Simpson, late 2005 or sometime in 2006; don't remember when -- I now regret this because I'm not a fan of hers anymore, and I always feel embarrassed admitting I was fan to begin with. I would say in hindsight, probably my least favorite concert now. But at least she sang live... hehe...

Jingle Ball radio concert in Dec. 2007 -- Saw BSB as headliners for a Xmas-time concert with One Republic, Blake Lewis (American Idol runner-up to Jordin Sparks) and Colbie Calliat. Stupid girl behind me with huge breasts kept bouncing up and down during BSB's songs, hitting me in the back with those damn things. Same venue BSB played in 2005, but I wore platform boots this time to make SURE I could see.

The Veronicas, May 2009 -- Opening acts were The Love Willlows and Taylor Momsen's band The Pretty Reckless (before the members changed; not the same ones that she has with her now). The Love Willows weren't that great. The Pretty Reckless was actually pretty damn good. Veronicas were great, of course. Watched a fight break out during their last song. Security did nothing to stop it, because they didn't even see it. Ran into Momsen in the ladies' room and told her I liked her band, then proceeded to chit-chat with her. She was quite nice, actually (and only freaking 14 or 15 at the time-- I thought she was my age, which would have been mid-twenties then). Didn't know who she was at the time (I don't watch Gossip Girl and never will). Went the day before I left with the family for North Carolina for my younger sister's college graduation.

Paramore, May 2010 -- Fun. and Relient K were the opening acts. Same venue as BSB, but outside instead. Wished I could have been in the seated VIP area in-between the stage pit and grassy seating area. Was chilly for May. But Paramore rocked. Was one of the last few concerts with the Farro brothers in the band, so I'm glad I went.

Flyleaf, October 2010 -- Only one opening act- Story of the Year. Another good opening act. Ended up being front row in a standing room only area because I met up with a girl and her boyfriend, who was quite tall. She said he'd make sure we'd be in the front and would save our spots for us. I ended up with a headache during the concert, but damn, I got some good video from that, lol. Love Lacey Sturm (formerly Mosley), too.

NKOTBSB concert, July 2011 -- MUCH bigger venue. In fact, my first seated concert. Opening acts were some lesser known boy band I don't know and Matthew Morrison of Glee. New Kids were good, but of course I went for BSB. Won tickets from my local radio station, so this was a free concert for me. Seats were crappy. Wanted seats close to the stage, along with meet-and-greet passes or backstage passes to meet BSB. I missed out on winning those, though. Went to the concert with my mom again (she'd said she wanted to go, but I knew she couldn't afford to pay and neither could I- hence winning them from the radio station). Concert was good once New Kids & BSB hit the stage. They're gonna be in Europe this year touring. I'm jealous of you Europeans (if any are following this blog).

Sunday, February 12 -- To be announced. The opening acts are gonna suck again, though. I already YouTubed them. One is some hip-hop group I could care less for, and the other is a Gaga copycat/wannabe (and I don't like Gaga to begin with, so...)

My concerts so far... and I don't have any one favorite. All the BSB ones are my favorites (despite my love for mostly rock music now, I can't quit the BSB; literally like a drug [like LSD, PCP])...
